CLM Men’s Retreat
“Identity and Mission” was the theme for the annual CLM men’s retreat held at St. Malo Retreat Center. Male members of the CLM flew from different parts of USA to attend the retreat that was presented by the Sodalitium Christianae Vitae St. Malo's community, during the weekend of June 20th to 22nd.
In silence and in a spiritual environment, the first reflection on “Today’s crisis and our situation” helped the participants reflect on the situation of the world we live in, its contradictions and conflicts. Also it was an occasion to meditate in their own situation in regards to the crisis and the world. Saturday morning was a time to meditate on the theme of “Sin and the longing for reconciliation”, which put them in the horizon of the expectation of the merciful God that does not abandon us.
“The Lord Jesus and our Reconciliation” was the following reflection, where they reflected in Jesus Christ as foundation for a true identity. “Only in Him do we understand the true meaning of being human” (Cf GS 22). The encounter with Jesus Christ led them to reflect on the need of striving to be Saints today, and also the need for a renewed effort for evangelization and apostolate. The mission and horizon of the CLM in USA is the New Evangelization and all its efforts are fruit of the true Identity discovered in Jesus Christ and lived day by day in constant effort for holiness.
